Okay, I fell asleep at a shamefully early time last night and didn't write up the weekend round up. So here I am at work (naughty!) trying to get it out very quickly for you.
Friday we did our morning play group again and in the afternoon our friend A who is moving back to the US soon come by for tea, which was really nice! Friday night I saw her again for the last Mah Jongg evening she would host. It was fun and sad. We are going to miss A very much.
Saturday we did our usual shopping. It was not crappy weather so we took Munchkin out to the park. One sees spring this week finally starting to fight through. Birds singing, buds on the trees. Still gray and awful though. Saturday night we watched an excellent documentary called Finding Sugarman or something like this. I highly recommend it! It came to us via South African friends.
Sunday was a lazy day. OH slept in but not so late that we didn't get out to a nearby cafe which has a giant downstairs with some toys. Holy crap, who knew? Our friend M came by for a bit and then it was lunch and nap time. All during this weekend from Friday on, you must also imagine me working forever and ever on a goodbye present for A. The stupid thing took ages and in fact I was so absorbed I ended up going late to our friend M's baby sprinkle. Mega props to my lovely co-hostesses who did a phenomenal job decorating. We had so many sweets that we didn't need my contribution of an applesauce rum cake (same one as last week, I've got it almost perfect now). Which was good since I managed to spill all the frosting out en route. So instead I stuck a little note in the cake and made it a Cake Card, to be opened when M's new baby is there and they need a little sweet pick me up, since the cake freezes beautifully for just such an occasion Then I dashed to join OH and Munchkin at swim lesson, then came home to chat with my parents. We'd chatted the day before as well and had a rather heated exchange but all was made well on Sunday. Sometimes you just need to sit on it a bit and digest.
Anyways it was a very busy weekend!
